Good to Great Social Media
When you study Jim Collins' breakthrough book "Good to Great" you begin to realize the role that technology (social media) should play in your business.
Most successful business people have already discovered that social media should support your core business, rather than be your core business.
The more that your social media presence supports your income producing activities (instead of being your income producing activity) the more money you will make.
The only exception to this principle is that if social media marketing is your core business then obviously it should be income producing, but for 99.9% of all real estate agents it isn't.
How can you use social media to support your business instead of making it your business?
How Social Media Supports Your Core Business
If you're like most real estate agents you can rattle off a list of ways social media is great for your business.
While you're rattling them off, your competition might already have a monopoly on your local market.
I wonder if you fully realize how valuable that would be for you (or them)?
The truth you have to realize is that social media will only support your core business when it's professionally created and managed.
Some agents are skeptical of social media...and they tend to be average producers. Top producers are not skeptical, they look for ways to get an advantage and act on that opportunity!
Taking your social media from Good to Great is a shift in thinking from "core" to "support" and from "skeptical" to "advantage."
